sinus infection won't go away even with antibiotics

sinus infection can be bacterial r viral, if a sinusitis is caused by a bacterial infection then it can be cured using antibiotics, whereas sinus infection caused by viral infection it won’t be cured using antibiotics rather it will require antiviral drugs. Although the line between a bacterial and viral sinus infection is very thin, but they are still different things.
The best solution is to find out if a sinus infection is bacterial or viral. How do you know a sinus infection is  as a result of bacterial or viral infection.
A bacterial sinus infection symptoms defer from a viral sinus infection, a bacterial sinus infection is characterized by  severe pain and fever, a thick , dark/ greenish or yellowish mucus discharge is a sign of a bacterial sinus.
Most sinus infection s are caused by viruses but when the bacteria can form when the left untreated due to lack of hygiene.
Additionally viral sinusitis will only last for fewer day, about a week or two, but if it last longer then it a sign that it is now a bacterial sinusitis.
Therefore when you see a symptoms of bacterial sinus infection it is when you can use antibiotics to to treat it, antibiotics like amoxilline or specifically amoxilline clavulanate  are good antibiotics to treat sinus infections. This antibiotics is so far effective o most species of bacterias causing the sinusitis and they have few side effects.
On the other hand viral sinus infection heals on their own, they do not need any antibiotics, you just have to rest and drinks enough fluid.
