whats are the good antibiotic for sinus infection

There are many antibiotics for sinus infection but the most recommended by doctors is amoxicillin , it is very effective and has few side effects

What are amoxicillin dosage for sinus infection

Amoxicillin is a powerful penicillin, an antibiotics used for fighting bacterial infection in the body, a penicillin is any drug that inhibit the growth and multiplication of other bacteria, it frustrate the metabolic process of those bacteria and end their presence in the body.
Sinus infection caused by bacteria can be treated using this drug,  this amoxicillin can stop and eliminate those infection causing bacteria and thereby bring to an end the sinus inflammations.
For an adult with average weight,
For mild nfection: 250mg orally for every 8 hour or 500mg for every 12 hours.
For severe infection 500mg for every 8 hours or 875 mg for every 12 hours.
It is not advisable to use antibiotics to treat sinus infection , antibiotics like Amoxicillin are only  used to treat sinus infection I the symptoms does not  stop with 7 to 8  days,  or when symptoms like greenish/yellowish discharge is seen or wen the infection keep reoccurring overtime. Otherwise it is not recommended to use  drugs to treat sinus.
A viral sinus infection s the most common type of sinusitis, it usually goes on its own without any medication, but it is recommended to seek a medical advice to know if an infection is actually bacterial or viral, the two have almost the same symptoms, the difference between them is very thin, since they almost have the same symptom, it is mostly only through a medical examination that one can actually tell if an infection is actually viral or bacterial.
Therefore whenever you see symptoms such as nasal congestion, mucus discharge from the nostril either thin or thick, sore mouth and irritation in the throat, couple with severe headaches and sometimes dizziness and blurry vision  then you are likely having sinus infection, therefore it is advisable to see your doctor.
Do you have to take antibiotics for a sinus infection?
I can say yes and no
You will have to take antibiotics if your sinus infection is bacterial, when you have a thick greenish or yellowish fluid coming out from your nose instead of the normal thin clear watery fluid, when your sinus infection lasted for than ten days or when you have severe fever , then it is likely that you are infected by sinus causing bacteria, you can go ahead and used antibiotics like amoxicillin to treat the sinus infection a , amoxicillin is member of the family of penicillin a very powerful antibiotics that inhibits the growth and multiplications of other bacteria.
I can say no, you cannot use antibiotics to treat sinus infection if it you do not have any of the above symptoms like, of bacterial sinus, even if you have some viral sinus infection. Even if you have a nasal congestion, sinus blockage; filled with mucus, sore mouth and irritation in the throat, sinus headaches, nasal discharge and more. Viral sinus infection does not response to the use of antibiotics and it will simply go on it own after a period of about 7 to  10 days,
What you need to do at these junction is to use home remedies to ease the condition, you can use sinus decongestant,; these are ointment that can clear nasal  congestion faster, you can also use sinus irrigation machines or should say device, these device can clear sinus and nasal congestion very fast, you can use humidifiers these will enable you to breath moisten air that will keep your sinus cavity moist, avoid very hot or cold temperature, extreme temperature will greatly affect sinus therefore you should avoid staying outside during the cold winter or walking on the sun at noon, and last but not the list  allergy-proof your room.
How long does it take for a sinus infection to go away with antibiotics
For a sinus infection to go with antibiotics then , it must be a bacterial sinus, a bacterial sinus can be treated with antibiotics like amoxicillin, for us to tell how long will take for a sinus infection to stop after the use of antibiotics, we have to consider what antibiotics use first,
Below is a list of some antibiotics and how they can first clear sinus infection
·        Generic alvelox: this is available as moxifloxacin 400mg tablet, it cure sinusitis, pneumonia among others.
·        Amoxicillin: a penicillin like drug ,beta –lactam; used to treat infection caused by microorganism, it inhibit the growth of bacteria and is used to treat infections like sinusitis, pneumonia etc,
·        Amoxicillin and Clavulanate Potassium  : is used as a sinusitis drug because it stop the multiplication of microbes that causes sinusitis.
·        Ampicillin: an antibiotics used to treat bacterial infections such as sinusitis, pneumonia , meningitis and gonorrhea etc.
·        Cofactor and azithromycin among others,
All drugs have their prescription , indication and side effects, it is not listed and meant for self-medication, all drugs come with their side effects therefore you are recommended to  consult your physician before administering any drug here.
Normally when a person affected by a bacterial sinus take an antibiotics, it will only take 24 hours to make the bacteria in effective, in other word the sinus infection will non-contagious after 24 hours of the use of the drugs.
Therefore you can go to work, school or social gathering if you are mandated to be there after taking an antibiotics.  You won’t infect other people because he bacteria are not infection,
Though it may take 3 to 5 days or more for the symptoms to completely go depending on the severity of nfection.

Are sinus infections contagious through kissing
Sinus infection can be contagious through personal contact if it is caused by viral, when the passing having the infection has droplets or sneeze –out mucus, then the viruses can be contagious.
Yes, f you are infected with sinus and kissed, shake someone you can easily transfer the viruses to the other person unknowingly.
You can be spreading the viruses days before the symptoms appear in you.  But the good news is that the virus can easily die .
A bacterial sinus infection cannot be spread from one person to another, therefore even if you kissed or the hug the person, not that most sinus infection s are not caused or carried by bacteria.
Bacteria only come into play after the viruses have blocked the sinus cavity. This will give a room for bacteria to accumulate and start to cause more infections in the sinus, therefore this bacteria do not caused sinus but can cause other infections in the body.
We can categorically say that bacteria do not cause or carry sinus infection but can cause other ailment.
When you are kissed by someone with sinus chance are you can be affected  if it still if it a viral  and chance that you cannot be affected if it is bacterial.
A person with sinus infection is therefore recommended to stay away from places where he or she could make physical contact with people, places like mosques, churches, schools, hospitals, partying places, clubs, bitches etc .
Parent are also mandated to keep their infected children away from school and day care centers, if will endemic if an infected child should be left to play with other children and is also a discomfort to the sick child.

Are sinus infections caused by allergies contagious
Sinus infection caused by allergies are not contagious, allergies are foreign bodies that are not  poisonous by themselves but our bodies sees them as poisons.
Allergies like pollen grains, dust, sand , danders are highly irritating when they get into our bodies. These substance cause what is called allergic reaction .
Other  food preservatives like gluten, parabens used as preservatives in foods and cosmetics are known type of substances that are highly allergenic.
Although their effect varies from individual to individuals and they are largely not irritating to many people.
Sinus infection is caused when these allergies caused inflammations in the sinus cavity ,  these inflammation  blocked mucus drainage through nose coupled with pain and pressure, the accumulation of these mucus will then cause infection.
The accumulation of these mucus can cause bacteria to accumulate and cause further infection like meningitis and brain abscess.
Therefore when a sinus infection is solely caused irritation which causes inflammation in the sinus, nasal congestion and discharges, then this type of sinus infection is not contagious. An infection can only be contagious if there are disease causative agents , who can carry the pathogens from one persons to another or an infected person has a direct contact with the individuals and therefore the pathogens are transmitted.
In a bacterial an viral sinusitis, there are bacteria and viruses to transfer the infection but n allergic sinus infection, there are not bacteria nor viruses.
The only way another person can be infected by allergic sinus infection is only if he or she has contact with the allergens like pollen grains, dust, dander etc.
Therefore the best remedies s to keep from these dust and pollen grains.
